Happy Independence Day

Just a friendly reminder of why we are celebrating today, because I know many of us forget. Many years ago on this day in 1776 the continental congress approved the Declaration of Independence, which set 13 colonies, of the now United States of America, apart from the British Empire. We then were on the road to freedom as a sovereign nation.
I talked to my kids about the meaning of the 4th this morning and why we celebrate today and we were all yelling "Merica!" It was fun, and the kids attempted to paint the American Flag which I'll show to you in a later post!
Heading to the 4th of July Carnival and then to see the fireworks! Stay safe out there and happy 4th!!!
